Citrine is the golden yellow variety of quartz. Most Citrine is produced by heating amethyst. The name comes from the French word citron, meaning lemon. Brazil is its main source, but it’s also found in many African countries such as Zambia, Namibia, and Madagascar.
Wearers of Citrine may experience heightened awareness. Citrine promotes motivation, activates creativity, and encourages self-expression. Enhances concentration and revitalises the mind. It releases negative traits, depression, fears, and phobias and is emotionally balancing.
Citrine is a transparent, yellow variety of Quartz, ranging in colour from pale to golden yellow, honey or almost brown, and may contain rainbow or sparkle inclusions.
Citrine is rare in nature. In the days before modern gemmology, its tawny colour caused it to be confused with topaz. Today, its attractive colour, plus the durability and affordability it shares with most other quartzes, makes it the top-selling yellow-to-orange gem. In the contemporary market, Citrine’s most popular shade is an earthy, deep, brownish, or reddish orange.
